Giving Feedback

In many of my posts, I'm going to ask for feedback.

This means I want you to let me know your thoughts on the piece I want feedback on. I want you to let me know if you think it's good or bad. I want to hear your thoughts, as a reader, on whether you think what I'm writing is worth reading. Let me know if you're enjoying it or not. If you see something that you think majorly needs changing let me know (Although grammar errors and such I must ask to excuse because I will be sharing unedited snippets.)

There are two rules in giving feedback.

  • Be honest
  • Be kind.

My writing will not get any better if you lie to me all the time by saying I'm awesome and I don't make any mistakes, just to be kind to me. I'm not perfect, so don't pretend I am. Please be honest.

But when you do give your honest opinion please don't be all snappy and discouraging. Be kind in the way you tell me things. Discouraging a writer can really hurt them, in fact, discouraging anyone can hurt them! So be kind. When giving feedback that I might not want to hear tell me in such a way that I find it extremely helpful and encouraging without being mean. Please be kind.

Thank you!
